There are only 15 days left before the midterms. Make a voting plan.

Another Republican has committed to voting for marriage equality in New Jersey! This morning, the Asbury Park Press reported that Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon, a Republican from Monmouth County, will vote for the freedom to marry — and he expects other Republicans to follow suit:

The days of Gov. Chris Christie and Republican lawmakers moving in lockstep may be coming to an end, with two GOP members of the Assembly, including Monmouth County’s Declan O’Scanlon, saying they will vote for a marriage-equality bill against the governor’s wishes.

O’Scanlon said there are likely to be more crossover votes.

Assemblyman O’Scanlon’s announcement comes on the heels of what has already been a historic week for marriage in New Jersey. On Monday, the Times of Trenton reported that Republican Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi,  Assemblywoman Gabriela Mosquera, and Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo will all vote for marriage equality when the bill is brought up for a vote.

Today, we’re four votes closer to winning marriage equality than we were a week ago — and that’s downright incredible. Together, we’ve shifted the conversation in New Jersey from “it can’t be done” to “marriage equality can happen.”

Let’s keep moving forward. Click here to pitch in now to fuel our grassroots work around the state.
