HRC PRESIDENT ALPHONSO DAVID RELEASES  RECORD-BREAKING CORPORATE EQUALITY INDEX AT WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM IN DAVOS: At an event hosted by the Partnership for Global LGBTI Equality, David (@AlphonsoDavid) announced that a record 686 of America’s leading companies and law firms are continuing to advance vital and rigorous policies and practices to protect their lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workers -- both at home and abroad, according to the HRC Foundation’s newly-released 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). “From supporting LGBTQ civil rights protections in the U.S. through HRC’s Business Coalition for the Equality Act, to featuring transgender and non-binary people in an ad in Argentina, to advocating for marriage equality in Taiwan -- businesses understand their LGBTQ employees and customers deserve to be seen, valued and respected not only at work, but in every aspect of daily life,” said David. TUESDAY TWEET -- HRC HONORED LIFE AND LEGACY OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. WITH DAY OF SERVICE: “More than half a century ago, our nation was moved by a preacher who stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and shared his dream of a day when his children would be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character,” said HRC President Alphonso David. “Since the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke those words in 1963, we as a nation have made great progress in our journey toward full equality, but we know that we have much further to go.” More from KUSI and HRC.
