Summary: This bill would have required the board of education to adopt a comprehensive, age-appropriate sex education program, mandatory for graduation from all public secondary schools, that includes concepts of abstinence, contraception and sexually transmitted disease prevention. The board’s current sex education policy is abstinence only.
Status: The bill was introduced January 23, 2008 and died when the legislature adjourned May 1, 2008.
