Summary: This resolution proposes to amend the state constitution to provide that marriage is only the union of one man and one woman.
Status: The House resolution was introduced January 17, 2008 and referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Procedures. On January 19, 2008, the chair of the House Committee stated that he would not hold hearings on the resolution. The Senate resolution was introduced on January 8, 2008 and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. On January 29, 2008, the resolution passed the Senate by a 39-9 vote. The resolutions died when the legislature adjourned March 14, 2008.
