Iowa Marriage/Relationship Recognition Law
On April 27, 2009, marriage licenses began to be issued to same-sex couples in Iowa.
Iowa HJR 6
Proposes a constitutional amendment, to be agreed to by 2 consecutive general assemblies and ratified by a majority of voters, that would provide that “marriage between one man and one woman shall be the only legal union valid or recognized in this state.”
Iowa SB 353
Would recognize marriage for lesbian and gay couples under state law.
