Same-sex couples live in every state in the country — and each state has its own organizations working toward gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. To connect with the movement for fairness in your area, contact your state GLBT organizations and elected officials.

Working with Basic Rights Oregon, the Human Rights Campaign is advocating for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues in the state. With elections coming up and the Legislature poised to pass non-discrimination legislation in 2007, fair-minded citizens are hoping to increase the majority of fair-minded state legislators in the state House, hold the majority in the Senate and maintain a fair-minded governor. Want to help? E-mail HRC Regional Field Director Sarah Scanlon.
