Would delete a current statutory requirement that schools teach abstinence from sexual activity as the “expected standard for all school age students while teaching the benefits of monogamous heterosexual marriage.”
Would require public schools providing information or offering programs regarding family planning, pregnancy, or sexually transmitted infections, including HIV and AIDS, to provide comprehensive, medically accurate, factual information that is age-appropriate.
Would amend the Florida Civil Rights Act to add sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression, as well as pregnancy and familial status, as protected categories.
Would repeal Florida’s statutory ban on adoption by “homosexuals”.
Would permit couples to register as domestic partners and receive the rights and responsibilities provided to married spouses under state law.
Would permit LGB people to adopt under certain specified circumstances, on a judicial finding supported by clear and convincing evidence.
