This bill would forbid a judge from taking into consideration a parent’s decision to undergo gender reassignment in the context of a case involving child custody, or from prohibiting a parent from undergoing gender reassignment as a condition of receiving custody.

These bills would expand eligibility for those who receive crime victims’ compensation to include domestic partners (as defined by the bill).
New York Program Bill 36
This bill would create a state "religious freedom restoration act", providing that someone whose free exercise of religion is "substantially burdened" by a rule of general applicability may assert a defense against the rule in a judicial proceeding and the government would have to show that the rule furthers a compelling governmental interest and is the least restrictive means of furthering that interest.
New York A.B. 866
This bill would provide civil remedies for victims of bias-motivated violence. Covered categories include sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.
New York A.B. 6807
This bill would allow credit unions to offer memberships to domestic partners of people eligible for membership in credit unions.
