Marriage Equality Award:
In 2007, HRC was proud to present Governor Patrick and the Massachusetts Legislature with the Marriage Equality Award. Since then, 5 additional states, 4 in New England, have joined Massachusetts in issuing same-sex marriage licenses. On November 14 we will honor those who were heroes in our fight for equality. The Human Rights Campaign is proud to present the HRC Marriage Equality Award to these champions of equality:
- John Baldacci, Governor of Maine
- Peter Shumlin, Vermont Senate President Pro Tempore
- Members of the Connectcut State Legislature
- Ray Buckley (in absentia), Chairman of the New Hampshire Democratic Party (US Representative Paul Hodes accepting)
