This is the first episode of the Human Rights Campaign's new series, Our American Dreams, we spotlight real stories from queer people and allies across the country—sharing raw, unfiltered journeys of identity, resilience, and hope. From red and purple states to major blue cities LGBTQ+ voices remind us that the American Dream is only achieved when we all live equitably and are free to live our authentic selves. This first episode includes HRC's first stop on the American Dreams Tour in Columbus, Ohio, where we talked to longtime LGBTQ+ ally, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, as well as other advocates, students, teachers, business owners, Mayor Shannon Hardin, and many others who are not just fighting for equality, but reminding us that our stories and we matter. And later, HRC's President Kelley Robinson is in Salt Lake City with singer/songwriter, David Archuleta to talk about his new album, Earthly Delights and is joined by his mom, Lupe Bartholomew, to talk about Archuleta's coming out, making music that connects him to the freedom of living authentically and receiving HRC's Visibility Award.
