Internship Application Deadlines

The priority deadline to apply for an HRC Summer 2014 Internship is midnight, March 28, 2014. You may submit your internship application past that deadline for consideration, however you will not be eligible for one of the limited number of Summer 2014 scholarships available (see Application for more details).

Financial Aid

As a student or recent graduate it may be challenging to pay for daily expenses or basic living costs - especially if your internship will require you to move to the DC area. Needless to say, being an unpaid intern can be financially strenuous.

The Human rights Campaign's internship program is a volunteer program. Since individuals may not have the financial means to participate in this program, HRC has set up a fund to help defray the cost of living in Washington, D.C. during the internship. We are offering a limited number of Summer 2014 scholarships to students who 1) have demonstrated a commitment to diversity and equality in their own lives and 2) are in a position of financial need.

Please see the current HRC Internship Application for more details on this limited number of Summer 2014 scholarships.

Many universities have some sort of grant program for students taking unpaid internships. We encourage students to seek out these opportunities and to talk to their career center and financial aid office advisers for other financial aid opportunities.
