Businesses
Many American corporations have taken the lead in fighting against unfair and unnecessary employment discrimination. In fact, hundreds of companies have enacted policies protecting their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. As of September 2009, 434 (87%) of the Fortune 500 companies had implemented non-discrimination policies that include sexual orientation, and 207 (41%) had policies that include gender identity.
These companies want to ensure they have the best possible talent to compete in the global marketplace, and they don't want to deal with the patchwork of different laws in different states. Many of these companies – leaders in their fields – have joined the Business Coalition for Workplace Fairness to advocate for passage of ENDA.

The Civil Rights Community
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act is a major piece of civil rights legislation, like the momentous anti-discrimination laws of the 1960s and the Americans with Disabilities Act of the 1990s. ENDA has the strong support of civil rights and civil liberties organizations, including the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, the American Civil Liberties Union and the NAACP.

Many religious leaders support ENDA because they recognize the moral value of work, and they oppose unfair discrimination in all its forms.
