Patient Non-Discrimination and State Public Accomodation Law
Non-discrimination law in thirteen states and the District of Columbia bans discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in public accommodations – interpreted to include access to healthcare facilities.
- Those jurisdictions are: California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.
