All Children - All Families: Agency Staff Attitudes Survey
Assessing your organization’s LGBT cultural competence requires an understanding of the general level of skills, knowledge and comfort of your staff to work directly with the LGBT community. For smaller agencies this may be easier to gauge, but for larger agencies, particularly those with multiple sites and divisions, it may be more difficult.
Agency leaders can administer the All Children – All Families Agency Staff Attitudes Survey to their staff to get a more accurate, general measure of overall readiness to work with the LGBT community. This staff survey can help you identify any issues of particular concern and better plan for staff development/training to enhance their performance and cultural competence.
Overview of Survey
The Agency Staff Attitudes Survey is completed online and includes 49 questions covering many topics including: law and policy related to LGBT adoption/foster care; familiarity with LGBT vocabulary; beliefs concerning LGBT people and behavior with LGBT clients. The survey requires 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
Administering the Survey
Surveys are completed online. Agencies are given an agency identification number for your staff members to enter into the survey. Surveys are anonymous and only include the agency ID number for tracking purposes. When the survey period is over (determined by agency) a detailed report of the results will be sent to agency leaders.
