Media Advisory: HRC Hosts Discussion with Acclaimed Journalist and Author Steven Petrow

WASHINGTON – The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, is excited to host celebrated columnist Steven Petrow at its headquarters on Thursday, October 9th 2014 at 7:00pm.

The author of “Steven Petrow’s Complete Gay & Lesbian Manners,” Petrow has been addressing questions about LGBT and straight etiquette in his new column for The Washington Post titled, “Civilities” every other Tuesday, and is considered by many to be the go-to source for modern manners.

Dubbed “Mr. Manners”, he also writes "Your Digital Life" for USA Today and previously penned The New York Times' "Civil Behavior" column and "Digital Dilemmas" for Parade Magazine. Last month Petrow joined NPR’s All Things Considered for a discussion on what it means to be a man in America today, and led a Reddit AMA chat on “Modern Man Manners”.

The discussion will be moderated by The Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart, and will be followed by a reception.
