HRC Statement on Arkansas Foster Parent Ruling

'This is an important victory for Arkansas families,' said HRC National Field Director Seth Kilbourn.

WASHINGTON - Human Rights Campaign National Field Director Seth Kilbourn made the following statement regarding a ruling by an Arkansas judge on Wednesday overturning the state's ban on foster parents who are gay:

"This is an important victory for Arkansas families. This decision affirms the right of qualified Arkansas adults to serve as foster parents. Today, more Arkansas children have been given the chance for a loving home. HRC lauds the American Civil Liberties Union for its extraordinary work in this case."

The Human Rights Campaign is the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender political organization with members throughout the country. It effectively lobbies Congress, provides campaign support and educates the public to ensure that LGBT Americans can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.
