NOM to Spend Another $425,000 to Attack Gov. Lynch and Marriage Equality

September 29, 2010

Marriage equality is the law of the land in New Hampshire, having passed the legislature last year and signed by the governor.  However, the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) refuses to let same-sex couples live their lives in peace.  It was revealed today that NOM has bought $425,000 in advertising in New Hampshire, likely for negative attack ads against fair-minded Governor John Lynch, who signed a marriage equality bill in New Hampshire last year. This is in addition to the $200,000 NOM spent on outrageous attacks against Gov. Lynch last spring.

NOM’s lies just don’t seem to end.  Gov. Lynch has proven himself an effective leader who stood up for the rights of all New Hampshire citizens and the fair-minded people of New Hampshire will see through NOM’s deceit.

Leaders at NOM have made it clear that their real agenda is to repeal marriage equality in New Hampshire. This latest $425,000 attack campaign follows in NOM’s long tradition of divisive – and at times illegal – campaigns. NOM remains under investigation in neighboring Maine for violating election laws.
