BREAKING: US Court of Appeals Holds Maine Law in NOM Disclosure Suits

January 31, 2012, by Kevin Nix

BREAKING: U. S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit today upheld Maine law requiring NOM to register and report as a ballot question committee for soliciting contributions to the Maine Amendment 1 campaign. This potentially will require them to disclose some but not all of their donors, although this may take some time. This was yet another defeat for NOM - they knowingly violated Maine’s campaign finance disclosure laws. We call on them to comply with the court decision and disclose their donors that contributed to support the anti-marriage effort in Maine.
