Big Shocker—the Catholic Church recruited Frank Schubert

Question: Who do we have to thank for the man who has masterminded every marriage ballot campaign in the past four years?  

Somewhat obvious answer: The religious hierarchy that has funded the bulk of it, of course:

Not a huge surprise to me that the Catholic Conference would have headhunted for the National Organization fro Marriage's named political director, since the very earliest NOM/Prop 8 founding document specifically mentions the outsized role that the church leadership (led by Salvatore Cordileone) was going to play in this national push for civil discrimination.  In some ways, that election's Mormon factor sidetracked much of what was really going on behind the scenes.

But now we know.  So the new question: What are we going to do to stop this church's hierarchy from going so aggressively against both deserved consitutional rights and the majority wishes of American Catholics
