Anti-Marriage Equality Candidate Supported by NOM Loses in Iowa

The National Organization for Marriage was hoping yesterday’s special election in Iowa would give them a chance to add an anti-equality legislator to the state House but now that the votes are counted, it’s clear Iowans aren’t interested in discrimination.  NOM poured $86,080 into the state to elect Stephen Burgmeier in Iowa House District 90. He lost to Democrat Curt Hanson by 107 votes (3932 to 3825). Here’s some of NOM’s handiwork in the race:
