Discrimination Based on Gender Identity

There are lawsuits pending in various courts addressing issues concerning transgender Americans. These suits seek equal rights in the workplace, equal access to health care, equal protection of the laws. Opponents of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender rights argue that discrimination based on gender identity should be perfectly legal. In order to make sure that transgender Americans cannot be subjected to arbitrary discrimination, we need independent judges who understand that equal protection of the laws means equal protection for all Americans.
