Financial Aid for Interns

HRC internships are unpaid. However, as an HRC intern, you’ll gain significant experiences, networking skills, and insight into potential career paths. Moreover, HRC relies on interns to do a lot of substantial work.

As an intern, you might find it difficult to pay for your daily expenses or basic living costs especially if you plan on moving into the city. Needless to say, being an unpaid intern can be financially strenuous.

Many universities have some sort of grant program for students taking unpaid internships. We encourage our interns to seek out these opportunities and to talk to their career center advisors for other financial aid opportunities. To help our perspective interns, we have compiled a list of non-university specific scholarships and grants for LGBT and allied interns.

This list is not exhaustive. If you’re aware of any other types of financial aid for interns that we have not listed, tell us about it!
