Corporate Equality Index: How Can My Employer Prepare for 2010?

When will the next Corporate Equality Index survey and report be released?

The next survey - the "2010" survey - begins March 2009. The following dates are provided for planning purposes only and are subject to modification from year to year:

  • March 31: survey invitations mailed (surveys are completed online)
  • June 30: surveys due to HRC for review (HRC will notify employer if any inconsistencies or concerns arise and provide opportunity for clarification)
  • July 21: ratings finalized
  • September 15: Corporate Equality Index report released
  • October 15: awards reception for businesses that receive 100% ratings
  • November 20: Buying for Equality guide released
  • We haven't participated in the past - how do we get involved for 2009?

    Make sure that your employer qualifies to participate, then submit the name, position, e-mail, phone number and mailing address of a person authorized to represent your business to cei@hrc.org.

    Will the rating system and criteria change in 2010?

    No, we will continue to use the rating system we have used since the 2006 Corporate Equality Index. We are committed to giving at least one year's notice for the rating system to change.

    Will there be new questions on the 2010 survey?

    Yes, we anticipate new questions on the 2010 survey, however those questions will not affect the rating provided and will be used for informational purposes only. You can find a copy of each year's survey in that year's report.
