Dedicate an offering to cover your travel and hotel costs
- Devote a service to the effects employment discrimination and hate crimes have on the entire community. During or immediately after the service request a special offering to support your trip or the trip of a fellow religious leader.
- Watch Rev. Erin Swenson's and Rev. Drew Phoenix’s Transgender Day of Remembrance videos for inspiration for a sermon about how hate crimes impact an entire community.
- Read other sermons and spiritual reflections to get ideas for sermon preparation on the importance of GLBT advocacy.
- HRC is creating an Interfaith Transgender Curriculum and a For the Bible Tell Me So discussion guide that will be available for congregations to engage in issues faced by the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. These will be posted at www.hrc.org/religion and are expected to be available by the summer. Consider using these resources and collecting an offering at the end of the event.
