Mississippi SB 2766
Summary: This bill would amend existing adoption law to provide that (1) unmarried adults cohabiting outside of marriage with one or more sexual partners may not adopt; (2) state courts shall not recognize out of state adoptions by more than one individual not married under Mississippi law; and (3) child support orders from another state respecting a relationship prohibited under Mississippi law shall not be enforced.
Status: This bill passed the Senate by a 41-8 vote on February 20, 2008. It died in House committee March 18, 2008.
