Submit Your Story for Documenting Courage

By submitting your service-related story and/or photo to the Human Rights Campaign, you agree to allow HRC to consider your story and/or photo for publication on the website or in other related HRC publications. Should your story be selected for publication, you will be contacted by HRC and asked to fill out and sign a release form giving your permission for the publication of your story and/or photo. Your story will not be published nor your photograph displayed without your signed release form granting HRC permission to publish your story and/or your photo.

Note that we ask for your name, address, phone number and e-mail solely for the purpose of being able to contact you should your story be selected for publication. This information will not be used for solicitation purposes, nor will your address, phone number or e-mail address be part of any HRC publication.

PLEASE READ: People who are currently serving in the armed forces — whether on active duty, in the Reserves or in the National Guard — are advised not to send their stories to HRC for the Documenting Courage project. Federal law requires that gay, lesbian and bisexual service members not disclose their sexual orientation.
