Would make it a crime to place a noose on a property with the intent to threaten or intimidate because of sexual orientation or other characteristics.

This bill would make it a criminal offense to hang or place a noose on a person’s property because of the person’s sexual orientation, race color, religious beliefs, or national origin.
Massachusetts H.B. 1722
Would expand existing hate crimes and anti-discrimination laws to prohibit discrimination in employment, places of public accommodation, real estate, and education based on gender identity or expression.
Michigan H.B. 4091
This bill would require school districts and public school academies to adopt policies prohibit harassment, bullying, or intimidation motivated by, among other things, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.
Minnesota S.B. 1398/H.B. 1589
This bill would permit designation of a domestic partner who would have rights of hospital visitation and health care decision making.
New Jersey AB 4591/SB 2975
This bill would add "gender identity or expression" to the state's existing hate crimes law.
New York A.B. 4526/S.B. 2416
These bills would expand eligibility for those who receive crime victims’ compensation to include domestic partners (as defined by the bill).
New York A.B. 6584/S.B. 3753
Would expand antidiscrimination and hate crimes law to cover gender identity.
