Profile: B.D. Wong

B.D. Wong is an openly gay Chinese-American actor of stage and screen. Wong starred as Song Liling in M. Butterfly, a Broadway performance that garnered numerous awards including a Tony, an Outer Critics Circle award and Theatre World award. His on- and Off-Broadway credits also include La Cage Aux Folles and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Wong has also appeared in Margaret Cho's All-American Girl, Oz, Chicago Hope and The X-Files. Currently, Wong stars in Law & Order: SVU as police psychiatrist George Huang. He has also starred in the political thriller Executive Decision; Seven Years in Tibet with Brad Pitt; and has provided the voice of Captain Li Shang in Disney's Mulan.

In 2003, Wong published the book, Following Foo, which chronicles the days following the premature birth of his biological twin boys through a surrogate mother.
