A town hall meeting held on Nov. 2, 2005 at the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Washington, D.C. moderated by Harry Knox, director of the Religion and Faith Program of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
Keynote Speaker: Bishop Yvette Flunder, Founder and Senior Pastor, City of Refuge United Church of Christ
Bishop Flunder is the author of Where the Edge Gathers: Building a Community of Radical Inclusion. She also founded the City of Refuge, a thriving inner-city congregation that celebrates the radically inclusive love of Jesus Christ. As part of her ministry, she has established a Foundation in her name whose goal is to ameliorate the HIV/AIDS pandemic. City of Refuge boasts one of the largest ministries to transgender people in the country.

Panelist: Rabbi Steven Greenberg, Senior Teaching Fellow at CLAL (National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership)
Rabbi Greenberg is the author of Wrestling with God and Men: Homosexuality in the Jewish Tradition. He is an openly gay Orthodox rabbi and a founder of the Jerusalem Open House, the Holy City’s LGBT community center and home to World Pride 2006.

Panelist: Reverend Robert M. Hardies, Senior Minister of All Souls Church, Unitarian
Reverend Hardies is the senior minister of one of the most vibrant, social justice-oriented Unitarian congregations in the country. All Souls Church, Unitarian has grown exponentially under his leadership. Rev. Hardies sees his calling as to build "a diverse, spirit-filled and justice-seeking church" in the heart of our nation's capital.

Panelist: Reverend Albert Scariato, MD., Associate Rector, St. John's Episcopal Church Georgetown
Reverend Scariato is currently completing work at Catholic University on a PhD in Biblical Studies. He is particularly drawn to the relationship between spirituality and physical and emotional well-being. His major areas of interest are teaching, preaching, pastoral care, and liturgy.
