The Human Rights Campaign represents a force of more than 1.5 million members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer civil rights organization, HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.


Trevor Chandler

Associate Regional Field Director

A native of Laconia, New Hampshire, Trevor joined the Human Rights Campaign in January 2011 as a Field Organizer to help defend marriage equality in his home state. Now as an Associate Regional Field Director, he works to direct strategy and coordination with supporters, allies and partner organizations in the Western US to further LGBTQ rights and acceptance. He has worked directly on marriage equality campaigns for up to a year at a time in New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, Maryland, Minnesota, and Oregon relocating to each state to work on-the-ground in roles ranging from Field Organizer to Political Director.

In 2015 Trevor was chosen by The Economist Magazine's Global Diversity List as one of the Top 50 Diversity Figures in Public Life alongisde such leaders as Bill Gates, President Obama, and Malala Yousufzai for his work on LGBTQ issues.

Trevor regularly travels through the Western region training activists, advocates, and volunteers on effective messaging, legislator contact strategy, crafting field plans as well as using his experience to help put on successful lobby days and rallies.

After graduating from Plymouth State University in 2009 with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science, Trevor went to work for U.S. Representative Paul W. Hodes, eventually becoming the Compliance Director for his U.S. Senate campaign.

Trevor currently lives in Portland, Oregon enjoying all it has to offer, especially biking and long distance running.
