Global Programs

HRC Global Partnerships program leverages the knowledge, resources and expertise of HRC to support and strengthen the global movement for equality.

HRC Foundation’s Global Program works to support and strengthen the global equality movement with our 4 partnership programs offered across a global network of 180 LGBTQ+ organizations and leaders in 90 countries worldwide. We advocate for inclusive U.S. and global policies to protect LGBTQ+ people and increase legal protections for LGBTQ+ communities. We also work to improve the situation for LGBTQ+ refugees and respond to the progress and setbacks for LGBTQ+ people worldwide. Our program team coordinates across multiple programs to provide public education, capacity building, legal expertise, and programmatic support for LGBTQ+ advocates and allies around the world.

In spite of progress in recent years, all over the world LGBTQ+ people still face harassment, legal and societal discrimination and exclusion, violence, and sometimes death. 64 countries still criminalize same-sex sexual conduct, and in up to eleven countries, this may be punishable by death. So-called anti-LGBTQ+ propaganda laws inhibit advocacy, and organizing is constrained by restrictions on civil society in many more countries.

HRC coordinates across multiple programs to provide public education, capacity building, legal expertise, and programmatic support for LGBTQ+ advocates and allies around the world. Our Global Partnerships programs are offered across an ever-growing network of more than 200 LGBTQ+ organizations and leaders in almost 100 countries around the world.

Global Alumni Leadership Network

The Human Rights Campaign’s Global Alumni Leadership Network is made up of more than 200 advocates for LGBTQ+ equality from almost 100 countries around the world. Members of our network are leaders in their respective LGBTQ+ communities and work across the spectrum of LGBTQ+ issues. The purpose of the network is for our global partners to stay connected, share their stories, innovations and best practices, and to continue their involvement with HRC.

To join the network, advocates must participate in either the Global Innovative Advocacy Summit or Global Partnerships in Innovative Advocacy, or another of HRC's custom Global Partnerships programs.
