In 2006, HRC, its supporters and volunteers worked around the country to increase the number of fair-minded elected officials. This year, it’s even more important that we harness the political power of the GLBT community and elect people who will make equality a reality. HRC has a number of opportunities for those who want to help make 2008 the year to win.

Voting is the single most important action you can take to advance the movement for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender civil rights. But you can’t vote if you aren’t registered. Registering is easy — just select your state and complete the application.

Events in Your Area

From Camp Equality to the True Colors Tour, attending an HRC event is a great way to get involved with HRC and our election efforts in your local area. Find out what is happening in your state and how you can help achieve full equality.

Campaign College

Do you want to make a difference? Forty participants will be brought to Washington, D.C. for an intensive week of hands-on training on how a campaign works. After the training, participants will spend twelve weeks in the filed work on campaigns in targeted races. Learn more and apply here

Camp Equality

Building on the success of the Campaign College program, HRC is kicking off an initiative designed to give volunteers the skills to help fair-minded candidates win critical elections.  Join HRC in one of 13 states across the country for a weekend training where you will earn about the fundamentals of political campaigns and the best practices of grassroots organizing. Learn more and apply here.
