In a HISTORIC VICTORY for GLBT equality, the proposed domestic partnership ban on the Arizona state ballot has been DEFEATED.
This initiative would have banned domestic partnerships for both same-sex and opposite-sex couples in Arizona.
HRC was proud to support our coalition partner Arizona Together to make this key win a reality. Kudos to all fair-minded Arizonans who beat back this mean-spirited initiative!
Republican former Arizona representative and co-chair of Arizona Together Steve May said, "When we first got started no national organization thought we could win ... except HRC. They believed in us and we thank them so much."
