Two fair-minded gubernatorial candidates have just won their races -- Deval Patrick in Massachusetts and Ed Rendell in Pennsylvania.
Patrick, who supports full marriage equality for same-sex couples, was easily elected, and HRC endorsee Ed Rendell had a solid victory over competitor Lynn Swann.
Patrick's victory marks the first governor's race that has switched parties. Patrick, a Democrat, will replace outgoing Gov. Mitt Romney, an outspoken opponent of gay rights.
