Election Night Blog

I'm working on the ground in Arizona today, and I just stopped in to say hello to our folks working at fair-minded congressional candidate Harry Mitchell's campaign.

One HRC volunteer I met, Sally, was running a phone bank of about 12 people. Sally came in days ago from San Diego. She's an energetic HRC member who volunteered to travel in support of fair-minded candidates -- and now she's running the campaign headquarters phone bank.

I followed one of our interns, Greg, to a second phone bank location at a kitchen interior design shop with beautiful model kitchens everywhere. No empty pizza boxes in sight there.

Then I headed off to the Arizona State University campus in Tempe, where I met with our exuberant HRC ASU team. They'd just finished hanging up "NO on 107" flyers all around campus, encouraging students to vote against the Arizona anti-domestic partnership ballot measure. They now have 250 volunteers on campus. We saw "No on 107" TV ad as we sat in a campus cafe.

Now, I'm heading to the Arizona Together offices for last minute get-out-the-vote calls. Everyone has such great energy here!
