HRC got the vote out in Illinois.
It's shaping up to be a big year for supporters of equality. HRC endorsed more than 220 candidates for federal office in 2006 -- in 37 states and the District of Columbia. We've got staffers and volunteers out across the country helping get out the vote for these fair-minded candidates.
Plus, we're working to defeat anti-gay ballot initiatives. This year, voters in eight states will face ballot measures that would ban recognition for same-sex couples. And in seven states, we're keeping an eye on the state legislatures too -- tonight, some of the balances there just might tip in favor of equality.
