Election Night Blog

Sent in by: Arizona HRC Volunteers

We've been volunteering for Harry Mitchell's campaign here in Arizona's 5th congressional district since July -- and it's been incredibly exciting to see the number of out-of-state volunteers from HRC. We've had a member of the HRC Youth College working as our volunteer coordinator, and an HRC member as our field director. This past weekend we were joined by an HRC intern from Washington and another HRC volunteer from San Diego.

We're all proudly wearing our HRC "OUT TO VOTE!" stickers, and we have about a dozen GLBT people working and volunteering on the campaign. All of us, along with hundreds of other volunteers, have made more than 50,000 calls and door knocks the past few days.

It's Election Day, and we're proud to be HRC members working on this campaign. We're predicting victory for Harry and other pro-GLBT candidates!
