After the extremist anti-LGBT group Liberty Counsel threatened a school in Wisconsin with legal action over a planned reading of I am Jazz, a children’s book about about a transgender child, students released a video to show their support for transgender youth.

While the Mount Horeb school cancelled a reading of the book last month, this video is just one of the ways community members have been rallying around transgender youth and the book’s co-author, HRC Youth Ambassador Jazz Jennings. Last week, nearly 600 people gathered at a public library for a reading of I am Jazz.

Following the community’s stupendous response, the Mount Horeb School Board on Monday voted unanimously in favor of trans-inclusive accommodations.

“The new measures grant transgender students access to the restrooms and locker rooms that correspond to their new gender identities,” Wisconsin State Journal reported. “Additionally, the students will be permitted to participate in physical education classes and intramural sports ‘in a manner consistent with’ their gender identities.”
