The Campaign for Southern Equality recently launched the WE DO Campaign to highlight the real-life impact of discriminatory state laws on loving, committed same-sex couples.

Yesterday the WE DO Campaign released a new video about a same-sex couple standing up for equality in Poplarville, Mississippi.  Kristen and Jenna requested – and were denied- a marriage license in an attempt to illuminate discriminatory state laws and the work that remains in order to achieve full LGBT equality nationwide.

Watch Southern Equality’s video below.

Currently, HRC president Chad Griffin is in Jackson, Miss. for his final stop in a week-long tour of the South. Throughout the week, Griffin has stressed that there are now two Americas: one that grants equality to LGBT people, and one that does not.
