Oregonians got their first taste of the debate that could be heading to the ballot this November as an Oregon United supporter faced off with a representative from the group attempting to bring forward an anti-LGBT ballot measure.
Oregon United supporter Sharon Gary-Smith spoke about the harmful effects about going backwards in history to allow discrimination against certain sets of people whether that be on gender, race, or sexual orientation:
HRC is a founding member of Oregon United, we are working with the coalition to defeat this discriminatory initiative. The initiative is currently going through the title process, in order to qualify they need to collect 87,000 valid signatures by this July.
