Financial expert Suze Orman made the case for marriage equality on E! recently, citing the disadvantages LGBT people face financially because of the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). Suze, who has been with her partner KT for more than 12 years, said same-sex couples face federal financial burdens that opposite-sex couples simply do not face, and that “There’s something radically wrong with that and that has got to change, and it’s got to change now.”

Check out the video:

DOMA denies over 1,100 benefits and protections to legally married same-sex couples.

It’s certainly not the first time Suze has advocated for equality. In fact, just last summer she devoted a segment on her CNBC show to marriage.

Suze’s remarks aired as part of an E! News special on celebrities coming out. Other big names featured included Chely Wright, Andy Cohen and Melissa Ethridge.
