In awareness of National Adoption Month, the cast of ABC Family’s The Fosters created a PSA in partnership with LA-based non-profit RaiseAChild.
As part of the organization’s “Let Love Define Family” campaign, which encourages fostering and adoption by all kinds of people, including single parents and parents who identify as LGBT, the cast called on viewers to “foster dreams, foster love, foster hope,” and “be inspired” about foster parenting and adoption.
Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s All Children – All Families (ACAF) initiative is currently partnering with RaiseAChild throughout National Adoption Month to encourage LGBT prospective parents to provide safe and loving homes to children in the foster care system.
Actresses Teri Polo and Sherri Saum, along with the rest of the show’s main cast, made an appearance earlier this year at HRC’s National Dinner to honor show producer and Ally for Equality Award recipient, Jennifer Lopez.
According to Teri and Sherri, The Fosters “celebrates and advocates equality for all, and reflects [Jennifer’s] vision that a family is not about straight or gay, bisexual or transgender, it’s simply about love.”
