Washington Ref 71 Update

A quick update on the possibility that domestic partnerships in Washington State will be put to voters in November to approve or reject... Yesterday the Secretary of State completed counting and officially certified the results of their count saying they found 122,007 valid signatures which is 1,430 more than the bare minimum required to put it on the ballot.

All across the country people are taking part in HRC's No Excuses campaign, which was launched to encourage constituents to meet their legislators during the August recess. Coordinating schedules for these meetings can be difficult, but last night over 50 New Yorkers got to hear directly from Congressman Anthony Weiner.
