With eight days until Election Day, HRC is hard at work in Nevada to elect pro-equality candidates and #turnOUT the early vote.
Last week, HRC members and supporters attended a rally for Hillary Clinton and U.S. Senate candidate Catherine Cortez Masto featuring President Barack Obama. He spoke about what’s at stake this election season, including affordable health care, immigration reform and LGBTQ equality. U.S. Senator Harry Reid and Catherine Cortez Masto, who HRC endorsed, also spoke at the rally.
We joined local LGBTQ advocates along with HRC endorsed congressional candidate Jacky Rosen for an LGBTQ night at the polls. We partnered with the iwillvote.com bus tour for a rally and then walked to a polling center to demonstrate the power of the LGBTQ voting bloc.
We ended the week with an HRC Steering Committee phone bank with former USA Gymnastics Champion Josh Dixon, who is also an HRC Visibility Award honoree. We made hundreds of calls to HRC members and supporters across Nevada, talking with them about HRC’s endorsed candidates and what’s at stake this election season.
We had a busy and productive week and will continue our work until Election Day in Nevada and across the country. Learn more about HRC’s Vote Equality 2016 efforts.
