Brian Sims, the first openly gay person elected to Pennsylvania's House of Representatives, on Wednesday stopped by the Human Rights Campaign's national headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Sims is an outspoken advocate for equality and made headlines again in October when he introduced a marriage equality bill in Pennsylvania. He has also advocated for LGBT equality at the federal level on issues such as marriage equality and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act.
