Living as an openly gay couple in Mississippi comes with its own unique set of challenges, but for Justin and Eddie Outlaw, it’s worth fighting for.

The Outlaw's love of Jackson, their commitment to each other, and the support of their friends and family shine in the short documentary “A Mississippi Love Story.”

Against the backdrop of legal battles about same-sex marriage, Eddie and Justin share their personal takes on what love really means as the cameras follow them from March 2013 to their wedding day in California one year later.

Right now, the country is deeply divided into two Americas—one where LGBT equality is nearly a reality and the other where LGBT people lack the most fundamental measures of equal citizenship.

HRC’s Project One America is an unparalleled effort to close that gap, and it opens up a bold, new chapter in the LGBT civil rights movement of this generation. Through a comprehensive, multi-year campaign in Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas, HRC aims to dramatically expand LGBT equality so that people like the Outlaws no longer need to choose between the home they love and who they are.
