Georgia Field Post submitted by Donna Payne, former HRC Associate Director of Field Outreach

There is a groundswell of support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) in Augusta, Georgia.

Faith community leaders Rev. Sid Gates, Rev. Billy Alford of St. Alban’s Episcopal, Rev. Larry Fryer of Hudson Memorial CME Church, and others met with Congressman John Barrow to discuss workplace discrimination and their support for ENDA.

Faith leaders across the country are continuing to talk about their support for ending workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. For one, Rev Larry Fryer led a Clergy discussion about ENDA among the United African Christian Methodist Ministerial Alliance (UACMMA).

Meeting with members of Congress or their staff in their local offices is one way to support the Americans for Workplace Opportunity campaign to pass ENDA through the U.S. House of Representatives.
