Last week, Equality Pennsylvania hosted a meeting in Philadelphia to strategize about passing a statewide non-discrimination bill.
It was great to sit around a table for hours with savvy colleagues from allied organizations as well as HRC field staff as we work together to make history. We sat only a few blocks from Independence Hall, where our founders also strategized and argued about how to make our government work better for all.
As we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways we left this historic city with a renewed feeling of hope that one day soon Keystone State legislators will feel obliged to pass legislation that will protect LGBT citizens and that the Governor would sign such a historic bill. We hold these truths to be self-evident...indeed.
