This week, our friends at Basic Rights Oregon took an historic step toward winning the freedom to marry for all Oregonians. The Human Rights Campaign is joining BRO and a host of others to form Oregon United for Marriage, the group created to unite individuals and organizations who will work together to win the freedom to marry for same-sex couples in Oregon.
Tomorrow, Oregon United for Marriage will begin gathering the first sponsorship signatures for a November 2014 ballot measure to repeal the state's DOMA style constitutional amendment. Beginning Thursday, February 14th, you can join Oregon United for Marriage and be one of the first Oregonians to sign the petition to bring marriage equality to the state. Visit www.OregonUnitedforMarriage.org to find the event closest to you.
Be sure to “like” Oregon United for Marriage on Facebook, and follow them on Twitter. Also, stayed tuned to our blog for more happenings in the Beaver State.
