As the federal government implements the Supreme Court's ruling striking down the Defense of Marriage Act, same-sex couples are also preparing to file their taxes for the first time since the landmark decision. Last summer, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced that they would recognize the marriages of same-sex couples for federal tax purposes, regardless of where they live.
